May is Wildfire Preparedness Month

Wildfire Preparedness Month is a nationwide effort each May to help residents and visitors prepare for wildfire season.

In Plumas County, this work happens at the community level. The Plumas County Fire Safe Council works with local organizations, businesses, and community groups to share simple actions that help reduce wildfire risk.

Throughout May, partners across the county help share practical preparedness steps that protect homes, families, forests, and communities, building a stronger culture of wildfire preparedness in Plumas County.
